Affected by the epidemic, new iPhone products may face shortage of supply

At present, Apple has lowered its iPhone shipment target for the first quarter of this year by 10% to 36-40 million units.

If the new iPhone has not been released, it may face the problem of insufficient supply or even delayed release.

Recently, Tianfeng International analyst Guo Mingqi said that due to the impact of the epidemic, iPhone production capacity will slow down, which will have the greatest impact on the new iPhone products to be released this year.

Following Apple’s usual new product launch rhythm, the company should launch the lower-priced iPhone SE2 next month. In order to ensure supply, the new machine should be mass-produced this month. However, due to the impact of the epidemic, most domestic companies have delayed the resumption of work. Several Hon Hai iPhone production factories, such as factories in Zhengzhou, Shenzhen, Taiyuan and other places, as well as Pegatron’s iPhone production factories in Shanghai and Kunshan, have delayed the resumption of work.

What’s more worth mentioning is that the shortage of supply will directly lead to a sharp drop in iPhone shipments. At present, Apple has lowered its iPhone shipment target for the first quarter of this year by 10% to 36-40 million units. At the same time, Apple also closed all corporate offices, stores and contact centers in the country.

In fact, Apple is not the only smartphone manufacturer affected by the epidemic. Relevant statistics show that during the Lunar New Year holiday this year, smartphone shipments in the domestic market dropped by 50-60% year-on-year, and the new product release plans of many domestic mobile phone brands have been adjusted.

In addition to smartphones, the automobile production field is also greatly affected by the epidemic. For example, Toyota, Hyundai, Tesla and other auto manufacturers have also delayed the resumption of work in domestic factories. Although Tesla has resumed work today, the delivery plan is still somewhat delayed.
