The development of Industry 4.0 technology is already accelerating. This will lead to future industrial automation becoming scalable, open and integrated optimization. Explore the impact that some top trends will have on machine manufacturers and factory operations.
Most of today’s industrial automation systems use PLC-centric distributed control strategies. The PLC-centric solution provides limited remote access, no security or machine-to-machine (M2M) communication and separate security control. In a master-slave system, because the input and output from the sensor or the actuator must be directly connected to the PLC or connected to some valid or invalid devices, it is difficult for autonomous devices to coexist, see the figure below.
The next stage of the industry will shift from centralized, up-and-down direct control to integrated security and network security in a distributed control architecture. Distributed control effectively promotes safety, process processing and intelligence closer to where required, allowing dynamic real-time processing. A higher level of equipment intelligence eliminates high-cost centralized controllers by distributing logic. Distributed control plus real-time machine-to-machine (M2M) communication, and applications directly connected to enterprises will drive a huge change in the centralized and hierarchical automation world.
More and more factories are gradually replacing traditional fieldbuses with Ethernet-based networks in the field. Ethernet fieldbus technology provides high cost performance and reliability and accessibility. Thanks to fast, safe and precise data flow, these fieldbus technologies provide shared communication on a single local area network, while simultaneously being able to access the Internet. A network can improve transparency by combining wireless and wired connections, closer to production monitoring and control, resource management, and streamlined management.
Dynamic automation requires an open and interoperable network. In the future, equipment manufacturers and manufacturers will not have to fall into a private/semi-public scheme. In an open Industry 4.0 ecosystem, all devices are interconnected without protocol restrictions. In the ecosystem, the open architecture will provide the equipment supplier and its customers with freedom of customization, use the latest technology, and more easily add or stop equipment.
Industry 4.0 is not a revolution in the real world. Industrial automation changes one device in turn. Technology is used to support an open and powerful distribution network, modular machine-based control and logic, without the need to replace all transmission lines or machines on a production line. Molex Industrial Automation Solution 4.0 (IAS4.0) is designed for distributed control and organization management of equipment, providing an open architecture from sensors, machines, enterprises, and cloud applications (see the figure below). The development of the integrated IAS4.0 platform brings a modular and modular approach. A device manufacturer or end customer can connect one or more devices, gradually improve them, and choose according to their needs.
An end-to-end platform, IAS4.0 can serve simple or highly complex devices and robots, and can also be used for controllers, gateways, and IO modules, as well as to develop cloud-based applications. The protocol-independent kernel allows real-time M2M communication without worrying about existing old protocols.
As an authorized distributor of Molex, Heilind can provide relevant services and support for the market. In addition, Heilind also supplies products from many top manufacturers in the world, covering 25 different component categories, and attaches importance to all market segments and all customers. Constantly seek a wide range of product supplies to cover all markets.
